I have an old top load washing machine for laundry. i want to buy a $500 ge front load washer.?

will i be able to fit more clothes in the front loader and will it save on electricity and water but mainly will it save on electricity and fit more clothes as my landlord pays the water. i live in ohio. the machine i have now is a like 70s or 80s model maytag. maybe early 90s? it dont seem to clean the clothes all that good.
