My computer wont read a disk?

I have a windows xp computer. I want to play this game and it worked. This worked for a long time when suddenly one day the computer wont read it. The icon did not even pop up in "my computer". The disk is clean and i am within the specs. The disk is clean. What should i do. The game is civ 3 gold edition/The com can read other disks
