Musical ysis of John Mayer?

I have to write a paper on how I can tell John Mayer has matured by using 4 of his cds. Room For Squares, Heavier Things, Continuum, and Battle Studies. Even just an ysis of one or two songs on any of these cds would help. Thanks!
