What is Jesus Christs real birth date?

I am not a huge religious person and I am sorry if I offend anyone but why do we celebrate Jesus Christs birthday on Dec. 25 when in the bible it does not indicate anywhere that he was born on that day. What is the significance of Dec. 25th?
